plum bum
plum bum comes from the highlands of guji, in the remote shakiso district of oromia, where coffee grows slowly at elevations between 1,950 and 2,150 meters above sea level. produced from local ethiopian heirloom varieties, the cup reflects the vibrant clarity and floral elegance guji coffees are known for — delicate, layered, and remarkably clean with notes of plum, bergamot and sencha tea.
the cherries are hand-picked by more than 500 smallholder farmers across tero kebele before being delivered to the washing station. here, the coffee is carefully sorted, depulped, fermented, and fully washed to remove the mucilage before drying. this washed process enhances transparency in the cup, bringing forward it’s terroir.
we sourced this lot with falcon from berlin, who we have been working with for our ethiopian lots the past year. this specific lot is supplied to eudr-compliant standards, supporting the requirements for deforestation-free sourcing, legal production, and due diligence traceability for the eu market.

about tero kebele
plum bum comes from the highlands of guji, in the remote shakiso district of oromia, where coffee grows slowly at elevations between 1,950 and 2,150 meters above sea level.
in guji, farming methods remain largely traditional. coffee is commonly intercropped with other food crops, a practice typical among smallholders. this approach maximizes land use while also providing food for farmers’ families
